From morning coffees to evening pints, this guide is your passport to discovering the best dog-friendly restaurants, breweries, and cafes in the City of Brotherly Love to spend Valentine's Day, or any day, really! Whether you're starting your day with a cappuccino and a puppuccino, indulging in French bistro fare with your canine companion by your side, or sipping craft beer in a dog-friendly brewery, Philadelphia offers a diverse array of options to enjoy quality time with your pup while exploring the city's vibrant neighborhoods and culture.
Sharing Cappuccinos and Puppuccinos
Coffee shops and cafes are community anchors in our neighborhoods and we're happy to include a couple of Philadelphia dog-friendly spots where you can start your day with a full cup of caffeine and solid sandwiches and pastries.
Good Karma Cafe
928 Pine St, Philadelphia, PA
And 331 S 22nd St, Philadelphia, PA
Good Karma Cafe has two locations that human and pup patrons love! The cafe on 22nd Street near Fitler Square has treats for your pup and makes for a great pitstop on your way to the Schuylkill River dog park. The Pine Street location offers a courtyard and tables outfront the cafe that are dog-friendly. Both locations have WiFi and allow you to bring your dog inside to order.
K'Far Cafe
110 S 19th St, Philadelphia, PA
Start your day with tea or coffee and Israeli-style pastries at K'Far Cafe. Your canine companion will also find a delicious pup-cup for their enjoyment. As for our human friends, we recommend the housemade chai! K'Far does offer full-service on the patio, however there is limited outside seating in the winter and it is not heated or covered.
Making an Afternoon or an Evening of It
Interested in a wining and dining experience? Here are a few spots where you can really treat you and your dog!
Parc
227 S 18th St, Philadelphia, PA
Traditional French bistro fare and sidewalk dining with a gorgeous view of Rittenhouse Square. Parc loves seeing your furry friends dining with you and makes that known by sharing pictures of pup patrons on their Instagram. We recommend dining in the springtime as Rittenhouse Square comes into bloom, and calling ahead if you're looking for a sidewalk table this Valentine's Day.
Salty Paws Rittenhouse Square
211 S 17th St, Philadelphia, PA
After a meal at Parc, make the short walk to Salty Paws for a bowl of doggie ice cream or tasty treat from their dog bakery. Their dog-friendly ice cream is lactose free and features flavors like maple bacon, pumpkin, blueberry & peanut butter, and classic vanilla. Whether stopping by for a quick treat or celebrating your pup's birthday with their closest furry friends, Salty Paws has our tail wagging!
Sally
2229 Spruce St, Philadelphia, PA
Wood-fired pizza and natural wine - what better pairing for the perfect pair of human and canine?? We love this cozy neighborhood spot offering a dog-friendly patio that is covered and heated. If you venture inside Sally's be sure to look for the heart-shaped, neon-lit chandelier. It's Valentine's Day, after all!
Want to treat your pup for their good behavior at Sally's? Salty Paws is less than a 15-minute walk away. Note that they are open from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, daily.
Pints and Parks with your Pup
There is no shortage of dog-friendly breweries and bars in Philadelphia where you and your furry friend can share some sips and loving pats together.
Evil Genius Beer Company
1727 N Front St, Philadelphia, PA
Industrial-chic brewery housed in a former 19th-century carriage factory crafting year-round brews and seasonal ales. Pups are welcome in their dog-friendly beer garden. Evil Genius has a fondness for our friends with paws and hosts events benefiting breed specific rescues and the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. One of their past events was a "block pawty" theme that hosted several local pet vendors.
Wissahickon Brewing Company
3705 W School House Ln, Philadelphia, PA
Family-owned and operated, Wissahickon Brewing Company loves seeing all the pup patrons! The brewery is dog-friendly inside and out, and hosts events like Pints for Pups benefiting animal rescue organizations like ACCT Philly. All of the neighborhood dogs know they're welcome at Wissahickon! Please keep them on a short leash with minimal barking so everyone enjoys their stay.
The Boozy Mutt
2639 Poplar St, Philadelphia, PA
This locally owned bar and grille is Pennsylvania's first indoor-outdoor off-leash dog bar featuring 6,500 square foot park for your pup to play! The Boozy Mutt features both human and mutt menus so everyone can enjoy a tasty treat. There is even a self-serve dog bath station so you can get fresh before heading home. Membership and day passes available. Registration is required before entry and dogs must be current with vaccinations.
Triple Bottom Brewing
915 Spring Garden St, Philadelphia, PA
We love a brewery that has a big heart beyond their love for dogs. Triple Bottom Brewing offers dog-friendly outdoor seating and hosts several charitable events that benefit our animal companions. The brewery is powered by renewable energy, and also has a social mission to celebrate community through “delicious beer and creative collaboration”. Triple Bottom creates meaningful, living-wage jobs for people who have experienced housing insecurity or incarceration.
