If more establishments saw how much happiness a dog can bring, they'd start opening their doggie doors, too. Here are some of our best tips to help us spread the word that dogs should always be welcome:
Alert and Aware
Make sure your dog is having a good time. If you start seeing signs they are unhappy, afraid, or unsettled by other dogs, take them home.Keep the connection
No one likes being approached unexpectedly at a bar and that goes for dogs too. Keep them on a leash and check-in with other pet owners' before allowing an approach.Table Manners
No paws on our plates, please! Don't set or let your dog onto the table, and don't let them eat off your plate. That behavior can get our dog-friendly establishments into trouble with the health department.Taking care of business
Dogs have to do what dogs have to do. When they doo-doo, take care of it promptly and ensure that it's never the responsibility of the establishment.Be the person your dog thinks you are
Tip your bartenders. Bus your table when appropriate. Be courteous to waitstaff. In short, be the kind of person you know your dog believes you are, and help us spot the best in each other.
